Video 1: A Challenger Appears!
[The angle when the gear turns on is... strange. Like it’s being held by someone too distracted to pay attention to where it might be pointing. There’s part of a chin, a shoulder, and plenty of scenery. The top of a whitish blob flops past the bottom of the screen. From the sound it makes, it must be a Seel.]
This is really weird. You know that?
[The Seel gives a cheerful affirmative from somewhere. Suddenly, the picture shifts, moving erratically until it stops with a soft thud as the gear is dropped and lands in the grass. At least it has a good view, now, framing most of a boy in his teens, crouching on his toes next to a backpack as he rummages through it, occasionally pulling things out for a closer look. His blue hooded sweatshirt has seen better days, and his pants don’t seem to be from quite the right century. Together with the ice-white hair, it makes something of an odd picture.]
If this is... Naw, it’s way too cutesy to be one of Pitch’s tricks.
[He looks up, past the gear at where the sounds of the Seel are coming from. His smile grows, just a bit.]
You sure you’re not a Selkie?
[A negative. The gear is nudged closer, and he laughs as he reaches for it.]
Okay, okay. Remind me to introduce you to Sandy sometime.
Now what am I supposed to do with it?
[Cue the random pushing of buttons. Electronics-abuse is always the answer, right?]

[Steve has an Eevee draped across his shoulder at the moment, who's looking at the camera curiously]
You can use that device for communication or to learn more about Pokemon, just aim it at one and it will spout information about it. It has maps, radio, and games too, it'll be very useful so keep it handy.
Video
Trust me, they're not just stories. Kind of stuck up, though.
[The gear is getting a much more considering look now.] Games, huh?
Video
[grins and nods]
Yeah, you just go to the Pokemart and they will upload games and other things on it. I use it more for drawing, but yeah, they are pretty handy.
Video
You draw, huh? I've got a friend who'd probably like you, then. I'm pretty hopeless.
Except with snowflakes.
[Ha ha, yes, funniest joke in the world, that.]
Re: Video
Like drawing in the snow? Or with actual snowflakes?
[curious]
Video
Little bit of both. You might call me a Jack-of-all-trades.
[But only if you were a person with a horrible sense of humor. Like Jack.]
Re: Video
[holding back a chuckle]
My name is Steve, how about you?
Video
[jaunty wave] Jack Frost.
Re: Video
[smiles, this kid has probably always been teased over this]
Video
[Finally, someone understands!]
Well, minus the nipping part. Seriously, who does that? Not this guy.
Re: Video
Video
[Suddenly, he really misses Jamie.]
Not that I've ever made anyone sick, either. I mean, a broken bone here or there, lost tooth, maybe, but no one ever said fun had to be safe, right? Right.
Re: Video
As long as its in good fun, then yeah, it's not always safe. [if it's you being a buly fun, then no] I was a frail, tiny kid, so fun always came with hazards.
Video
Hey, at least you got better, right? Sounds like a friend of this kid I know. ...Don't think Monty's gonna come out of it looking quite like you, though. [Even Jack felt bad for how often that kid could go through pairs of glasses.]
Video
I had help to turn out this way, not entirely how I was supposed to look. [yeah... A lot of "help"]
Video
Funny. So did I.
