Video 2: Being Human (Action for Cherrygrove City)

[Obviously, someone has been practicing. When the feed kicks on, it's a properly framed picture of one Jack Frost. He's set up camp in the woods fringing Cherrygrove City with a good view of the beach and a frolicking Seel in the background behind him. He also looks more cheerful and less confused than last time.

Oh, and the egg in his lap. That's new, too.]

So, everyone was awesome about answering my questions last time, now I've got more of them.

Cherrygrove is nice. Been here a couple days, now. [He gestures over his shoulder.] You can tell Phil likes it. Kind of got lost on the way here, yeah, yeah, I know it's a straight line, okay, and Phil is about as slow as slow can be, but now that I'm here, I've got this guy. [He pokes at the egg. It's blue and white and people in the know might recognize it as a Pachirisu egg. Jack is not in the know.] Or girl. How do you tell?

For that matter, what do I do with it? Am I supposed to keep it warm? Someone mentioned a deal for new people just showing up, and that's totally me, so I, uh... just kind of hit buttons until I saw something that sounded good, but now I'm thinking that wasn't the best idea?

[He takes a second to glance over his shoulder, probably to make sure his Seel hadn't been eaten by a shark in the last few minutes or anything. If nothing else, this place seems to be teaching him a really strange sense of responsibility. If only Bunny could see him now.

He resettles, placing the gear on the ground in front of him so it can pick up a full body shot, including the sneakers he wasn't wearing before.]

Okay, second question, and... I know how crazy this sounds, but at least some of you weren't human before getting here, right? Pretty sure I've met one already. [Again, unless Thor's parents had some ridiculous delusions of grandeur.] So the question is- how do you stand it? Not the being here, that's turning out pretty cool, but the rest of it. All the getting hungry, and tired, and walking everywhere, not to mention buying stuff. Am I gonna have to get a- [shudder] -job?

[He totally hadn't meant to, though, so it was probably for the best that no one was there to see it. There was a lot of button mashing.]

So I heard. [Yeah, he's still coveting Dennis.] I've got something to work to, then. I don't think Phil's gonna be good for that unless I feel like going swimming.

[Said Seel has decided to flop his way over from the beach. Obviously, even he has had enough surf for one day. Say hi, Phil.]

Uh... it's... hard? [No, seriously, throw him a bone, here. It's an egg? Is it supposed to not be an egg?]

Someone to travel with? [The thought hadn't even crossed Jack's mind, honestly. He was so used to traveling alone back home, that not doing so here just... didn't even occur to him. It probably would make the battles easier, at least.]

Anyway, I don't plan on falling into anything, don't worry.

[She is, indeed! And when it finally hatches into the most adorable electric squirrel ever, his mun he'll certainly be sure to thank her.]

An egg sling? Sure, why not? Otherwise, it's just gonna get to ride in my backpack. [Although, seriously, someone needs to decide if he needs to keep it warm or not.

A troll, huh? I don't think I ever met a troll. Yetis, sure. Not so much trolls. But the walking is definitely the worst. Going around things all the time. And you can't see anything from down here! [No, he did not just admit he's short, you must be hearing things.]

Yeah, but maps take all the fun out of finding things.

[They also stop you from getting lost, but Jack hasn't been human quite long enough for that one to sink in, yet. A week or so in a cave somewhere will turn that attitude around.]

Well, how has traveling been for you?

It's been... slow. But not that bad. Phil's getting better at taking on things that attack us, and I'm getting better at not distracting him. [They'll just have to work up to Jack actually being useful. He's still got a way to go with that part.]

Bell is also learning to be human. We figure things out 2X faster.

[Somehow he manages to pronounce it so that it sounds like "2X" instead of "two times", even though they ought to sound the same.]

I wasn't worried. Just passing along a suggestion.

[Jack laughs.] You'd be surprised the number of people here who are.

[Bunch of mother hens in this place, seriously. And he totally doesn't enjoy it at all]

Good! Glad to hear that. If you get the chance, you can always go fishing and find some easy Pokemon to practice against while still being in town.

[He finds it uncomfortable, himself. For the most part he prefers being alone, in charge, and on top of things. Ask him and he'd say he's using Belphe.]

[Snicker. Jack wouldn't have used 'irrational' but... okay, yeah, it does kind of seem that way sometimes. Especially when some of them don't look much older than him.]

[Jack is many things, but "maths obsessed" doesn't make the list. Alas, for Sho, speaking in mathematics is easier than bothering with normal speech.]

First person I met wanted me to call her mom.

Yup. She gives off sparks a lot. I saw her playing with some other little Pichu guys at the big dance thing last weekend, and they were doing it then, too.
