[When the feed turns on, it's immediately obvious that Jack is excited about something. He's practically bouncing, and if he had his powers, he'd definitely be in the air by now. Instead, he has to settle for grinning at the feed.]

Okay. This? This is the best thing ever!

[He turns the gear around to find Phil the Seel looking surprisingly smug for a Seel.]

Okay, Phil. Let's go. Show 'em your new trick.

[Even off-camera, the excitement in Jack's voice is obvious. And contagious, from the sound Phil makes as he shifts to face a large tree that has apparently been used for target practice this morning. As he concentrates, a block of ice starts to form just in front of his horn before he launches it at the tree where it shatters spectacularly. Somebody is learning Ice Shard, apparently.

Jack comes back in the shot with a whoop. You can almost see the gears turning as Jack thinks of all the things he can do with Phil's new talents.]

How awesome is that? He'll be making snowballs in no time.

((OOC: In case you're ~~lame~~ ~~clueless~~ unused to Pokemon like I am, Phil's Ice Shard is similar to the Mamoswine's here. Less powerful, obviously, but he's still learning.))

[Blake doesn't look impressed.]

So your seal's an ice machine. What's so great about that? There's one of those in the hotel lobby.

[Harshing Jack's groove? That is the opposite of cool. No pun intended. ~~This time.~~]

He's not an ice machine. Well, okay, he is. But he's an awesome ice machine, and since I can't do it here, I can get him to do it for me.

Snowballs, huh? You should have been here during Winter - there was quite a bit of snow then.

But, man - imagine creatin' them during summer! During the massive heat then... that'd sure be nice.

Yeah, I heard. [For some reason, it came up a lot that Jack had gotten here in exactly the wrong season.] I'm looking forward to it, if I'm still here.

And that's totally the idea! What if he can learn to do lots of them all at once? Instant snowball fight!

If you aim to create snowballs, you could also try Powder Snow. Many Ice-types learn it relatively early.

[Blake is a professional harsher of everything.]

[He gets that look from teenage brats a lot.]

There's nothing wrong with it. It can fill up a cooler for you.

Can't do what here?

[He gestures in the vague direction of the tree and all the melted ice.]

Make ice. Well, snow, mostly, but I could do ice and frost, too. Except I can't do any of that here.

[What is this kid talking about?]

The level of technology doesn't make any damn sense, but there's freezers all over the place. You can get all the ice you want.

Powder Snow. [That sounds promising. He looks and Phil and Phil looks back, and they both seem to shrug at the same time before Jack turns back to the gear.] We're both still pretty new at this, so thanks.

It's just still pretty weird being stuck here without powers. If Phil's got some of 'em covered, it's not so bad. You know?

[The same thing all the other people with superpowers have been talking about, of course. He's going to have to believe one of them, eventually.

For now, watch as Jack attempts a great feat of eye-rolling such as can only be achieved by a teenager.]

I don't mean just HAVING ice. I mean MAKING it. [He wiggles his fingers at the screen.] I was a winter spirit. Jack Frost? Ring any bells?

[Except no, of course it won't, because it never does. Sigh.]

[Amusement, Envy has it.]

Just wait until they learn Blizzard.

[So even without his powers, Jack manages to entertain people. Go him.]

Yeah? That sounds cool. I bet that's cool.

[Envy bends down and mutters something to the Cubchoo that had been in her lap, who squirms off and toddles toward a nearby tree.]

Alright, hit it!

[With a little noise of confirmation, the Cubchoo unleashes a torrent of snow against the tree... which freezes solid upon its doing so, but leaves a lot of snow laying around it.]

Just... careful what you point it at, I guess.

[The way his eyes light up say that is, by far, the best thing ever.]

Oh yeah, totally. My middle name is careful.

Somehow, that's not a vibe I'm getting.

[But she shrugs anyway and picks her Cubchoo back up.]

Also I guess be careful whereyou use it. Wouldn't want company thinking you're messing with their habitat on purpose.

Oh, come on. [He's hurt now. Really hurt. It'll be, like, thirty seconds before he can ever trust a person again. It really will.]

Who doesn't love snow? And what's the worst that could happen?

You're welcome. I do indeed; my powers were never particularly strong, but I must admit that it was a relief when a few of my Pokémon started to learn healing abilities. Potions are helpful, but do not always suffice in a pinch.

Hey, cool. Of course it'd be better if you did a combo, like say Hydro Pump and Ice Beam?

[Watch him.]

[Another goddamn bratty teenager, just what he needs.]

[That actually knocks Blake speechless for a second.]

Anyway, I prefer the term 'mythical being' but I guess fairy tale works.

Really? Some of them can heal people, too? Most of mine just get into trouble, not out of it.

[And then there's Dingle, but he doesn't ever really count.]

[That's a good thought, and he thinks it over carefully.]

I don't think any of them know those, yet, but you really don't want TOO much water in your snow. I mean, you need it pretty exact to get good snowballs.

[Oh, hey, other Jack! Just one of the people he was hoping to see! This Jack is pretty good at recognizing people who can come up with ideas to make things even better.]

Yeah, it is, but just think. If he can do this now, what'll it be like when it gets cold again?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of a giant ice pillar you can throw at your enemies but that works too. Actually, if you use Water Gun and Ice Beam, you can make ice slides.
