[Obviously, someone has been practicing. When the feed kicks on, it's a properly framed picture of one Jack Frost. He's set up camp in the woods fringing Cherrygrove City with a good view of the beach and a frolicking Seel in the background behind him. He also looks more cheerful and less confused than last time.
Oh, and the egg in his lap. That's new, too.]
So, everyone was awesome about answering my questions last time, now I've got more of them.
Cherrygrove is nice. Been here a couple days, now. [He gestures over his shoulder.] You can tell Phil likes it. Kind of got lost on the way here, yeah, yeah, I know it's a straight line, okay, and Phil is about as slow as slow can be, but now that I'm here, I've got this guy. [He pokes at the egg. It's blue and white and people in the know might recognize it as a Pachirisu egg. Jack is not in the know.] Or girl. How do you tell?
For that matter, what do I do with it? Am I supposed to keep it warm? Someone mentioned a deal for new people just showing up, and that's totally me, so I, uh... just kind of hit buttons until I saw something that sounded good, but now I'm thinking that wasn't the best idea?
[He takes a second to glance over his shoulder, probably to make sure his Seel hadn't been eaten by a shark in the last few minutes or anything. If nothing else, this place seems to be teaching him a really strange sense of responsibility. If only Bunny could see him now.
He resettles, placing the gear on the ground in front of him so it can pick up a full body shot, including the sneakers he wasn't wearing before.]
Okay, second question, and... I know how crazy this sounds, but at least some of you weren't human before getting here, right? Pretty sure I've met one already. [Again, unless Thor's parents had some ridiculous delusions of grandeur.] So the question is- how do you stand it? Not the being here, that's turning out pretty cool, but the rest of it. All the getting hungry, and tired, and walking everywhere, not to mention buying stuff. Am I gonna have to get a- [shudder] -job?

Date: 2013-04-15 05:28 pm (UTC)[Oh yes, this has been a big sore point with Envy ever since he got here.]
And you'll need money if you want to eat and sleep inside, but luckily you can get money from battles. [And, uh. Stealing. Which is what Envy does. Stealing and Meowth's Payday, screw jobs.]. So you don't need some stupid job at a Pokemart cash register.

Date: 2013-04-15 05:49 pm (UTC)[Something he enjoys doing? Can you get a job making snowballs?]
Helping people out could be nice.
Date: 2013-04-15 05:55 pm (UTC)I noticed. Doesn't make it any less weird.
I'm fine with sleeping outside. [As evidenced by the nice little campsite he has going.] It's mostly the food I'm worried about. And taking care of these guys. I guess the stronger they get, the better I can do that, huh?
[Envy has just led him to the best possible reason for Jack to become an awesome trainer and win more battles: not having to work regularly. Congratulations.]

Date: 2013-04-15 07:20 pm (UTC)You won't be able to tell gender til it's born, and even then you'll probably have to use the Pokegear to know which. Some Pokemon are genderless, so it's just a roll of the dice when you don't know what Pokemon you're getting.
Just keep the egg with you and take care of it. You don't have to sit on it or roll it, I don't even think you have to keep it warm, they're hardy. I just put them in my bag when walking around, but my Riolu seems to like to huddle against them at night. I don't think it helped or hurt any.
I also just did a "whatever sounds good" when picking my free egg, got this one [pets his Eevee who is slung over his shoulder like always] so maybe you'll luck out too.

Date: 2013-04-15 07:55 pm (UTC)Hey, Jack! Yeah, I did. Somehow. Had to break down and put these on, though. [Look, shoes. SHOES. Oh, the indignity.]
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 07:56 pm (UTC)I get to wait and see, then, huh? Works for me, I guess.
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 08:02 pm (UTC)Take care of it. Right. No playing basketball with it, then? [Haha, that's a funny joke, no, don't answer that.]
Phil doesn't really seem to care much either way. I think he likes sleeping more than egg-sitting. But thanks for the advice.
...Okay, no, I've gotta ask. What's with the outfit?
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 08:09 pm (UTC)Um, back home this is... one of my uniforms. At least it's not super shiny red and gold?
Video;
Date: 2013-04-15 08:22 pm (UTC)I knew people who weren't human before they came here, but you're kind of the first one that's mentioned not needing to eat and walk. [The tone is a bit amused, though she'd not trying to be rude. She's a bit awed at the idea I suppose you'd say.]
Date: 2013-04-15 08:24 pm (UTC)Never underestimate a good pair of boots! Maybe you'll come across a pokemon big enough for you to ride.
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 08:31 pm (UTC)[Waaaaaaaait a second... The mention of red and gold together with Steve's uniform jogs Jack's memory. Halloween is only practically his favorite holiday! He totally should have figured it out before. He points at the screen on his gear.] Captain America! Man, I shoulda recognized it! Only like half the kids in the WORLD dressed up like that last year.
[Yeah, he's recognized the UNIFORM now, but it obviously hasn't quite clicked that... well... Steve ain't just wearing it for fun. For someone who regularly hangs out with Santa Claus, you'd think he'd be quicker on the uptake.]
((We kinda discussed this, but if it's not cool, let me know and I'll change it ASAP.))
Video;
Date: 2013-04-15 08:44 pm (UTC)except that it's totally notIt is a pretty cool idea, if Jack does say so himself. He'll totally take the awe.
Since he's unlikely to get it anywhere else.He does look a bit sheepish, though.]Well, I was kind of... dead. Not like 'grr argh' zombies dead- [Of course, he makes the appropriate hand motions to go with the sound effects.] -but... well, yeah, kind of dead. And you can get places SO much faster taking the wind than walking, so why bother?
[Obviously, the HUMANS CAN SEE ME! shock has worn off in the face of more pressing annoyances.]
Date: 2013-04-15 08:48 pm (UTC)His eyes go wide at that tidbit of information, though. He's only seen the smallish pokemon that populate this area, after all.] They come that big?
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 08:54 pm (UTC)[okay, he can understand kids dressing up as him after New York, still embarrassing, but when he was in the USO kids would play pretend as him. It's still hard to accept without a sense of modesty. Also, it seems strange to him that kids outside of the USA would dress up as him]
Yeah, saving a major city can do that.
Date: 2013-04-15 08:56 pm (UTC)[Jack, you're in for a treat. Luckily, Jack S. is outside while checking his gear and unclips a pokeball from his belt.]
Dennis, come out!
[An enormous, winding, somewhat wall-eyed leviathan of a pokemon appears in a burst of red light. Dennis the Gyrados.]
Re: video
Date: 2013-04-15 08:59 pm (UTC)So let's see, the rest of 'being a human' on your list.. yes, walking is common, but if you raise a big enough Pokemon, they may be able to carry you.
Resting is good for at least six hours, though eight hours of sleep is best, and make sure to eat at least three times a day. You will want to eat a little after you've woken up, around noon, then again in the evening around five or six o clock. You can make changes as you feel are necessary, but those are basics.

Date: 2013-04-15 09:11 pm (UTC)That's more work than having a job.
Date: 2013-04-15 09:16 pm (UTC)[That... is AWESOME! It's amazing! Cooler than cool! Jack has never needed something so badly as he needs one of those right now.
And he'll be getting one as soon as he's back on the road, whether he wants the Magikarp or not. He's not sure he'd have named it 'Dennis' but he's already pretty sure the other Jack is just strange like that.]What is that?
Video
Date: 2013-04-15 09:24 pm (UTC)Still, he's suitably impressed.] So... wow, you're actually him?
[He barely avoids the 'I didn't think you really existed!' because that would be just too much irony, even for him.]
Date: 2013-04-15 09:24 pm (UTC)This, friend, is a Gyrados, the evolved form of Magikarp. Several pokemon get larger as they evolve! I have a Murkrow who, I think, is purposefully not evolving so she can continue to sit on my shoul-DERRRR
[The enormous fishy head of Dennis shoves his trainer aside so that he can squint into the tiny noise-making thing his trainer seems to like so much. Be glad you can't smell his fishbreath. Jack shoves one of Dennis's long whiskers out of the way.]
He's very friendly!
