justanexpression[Obviously, someone has been practicing. When the feed kicks on, it's a properly framed picture of one Jack Frost. He's set up camp in the woods fringing Cherrygrove City with a good view of the beach and a frolicking Seel in the background behind him. He also looks more cheerful and less confused than last time.
Oh, and the egg in his lap. That's new, too.]
So, everyone was awesome about answering my questions last time, now I've got more of them.
Cherrygrove is nice. Been here a couple days, now. [He gestures over his shoulder.] You can tell Phil likes it. Kind of got lost on the way here, yeah, yeah, I know it's a straight line, okay, and Phil is about as slow as slow can be, but now that I'm here, I've got this guy. [He pokes at the egg. It's blue and white and people in the know might recognize it as a Pachirisu egg. Jack is not in the know.] Or girl. How do you tell?
For that matter, what do I do with it? Am I supposed to keep it warm? Someone mentioned a deal for new people just showing up, and that's totally me, so I, uh... just kind of hit buttons until I saw something that sounded good, but now I'm thinking that wasn't the best idea?
[He takes a second to glance over his shoulder, probably to make sure his Seel hadn't been eaten by a shark in the last few minutes or anything. If nothing else, this place seems to be teaching him a really strange sense of responsibility. If only Bunny could see him now.
He resettles, placing the gear on the ground in front of him so it can pick up a full body shot, including the sneakers he wasn't wearing before.]
Okay, second question, and... I know how crazy this sounds, but at least some of you weren't human before getting here, right? Pretty sure I've met one already. [Again, unless Thor's parents had some ridiculous delusions of grandeur.] So the question is- how do you stand it? Not the being here, that's turning out pretty cool, but the rest of it. All the getting hungry, and tired, and walking everywhere, not to mention buying stuff. Am I gonna have to get a- [shudder] -job?

Phil doesn't really seem to care much either way. I think he likes sleeping more than egg-sitting. But thanks for the advice.

He totally should have figured it out before. He points at the screen on his gear.] Captain America! Man, I shoulda recognized it! Only like half the kids in the WORLD dressed up like that last year.
[Yeah, he's recognized the UNIFORM now, but it obviously hasn't quite clicked that... well... Steve ain't just wearing it for fun. For someone who regularly hangs out with Santa Claus, you'd think he'd be quicker on the uptake.]

It's still hard to accept without a sense of modesty. Also, it seems strange to him that kids outside of the USA would dress up as him]

Date: 2013-04-17 03:19 pm (UTC)Well, yeah, everyone wants to be acknowledged or believed in on some level, it's odd to meet people who know me only as a fictional character, bothers me a tad, but I guess in the end I most want them to believe in what Captain America stands for, because as him, I'm a personification of an ideal. And so, even if he's a book or comic, Captain America still exists and is still that ideal that kids, well anyone, can look up to, and that means a lot to me.
[smiles, because it does, the fact that his message continues on to other worlds in someway is pretty amazing. Better than not being there at all]

Okay, so children's beliefs are kind of a big deal, right? That's basically how Santa and the Tooth Fairy and all them exist, because kids believe they do. And the same is kinda true of Pitch. Uh, that's the Boogeyman. Except he feeds on fears instead of good things like fun.
So... yeah. He's real, just like the rest of us.
