Video 3: Someone's Got a New Toy

justanexpression[When the feed turns on, it's immediately obvious that Jack is excited about something. He's practically bouncing, and if he had his powers, he'd definitely be in the air by now. Instead, he has to settle for grinning at the feed.]
Okay. This? This is the best thing ever!
[He turns the gear around to find Phil the Seel looking surprisingly smug for a Seel.]
Okay, Phil. Let's go. Show 'em your new trick.
[Even off-camera, the excitement in Jack's voice is obvious. And contagious, from the sound Phil makes as he shifts to face a large tree that has apparently been used for target practice this morning. As he concentrates, a block of ice starts to form just in front of his horn before he launches it at the tree where it shatters spectacularly. Somebody is learning Ice Shard, apparently.
Jack comes back in the shot with a whoop. You can almost see the gears turning as Jack thinks of all the things he can do with Phil's new talents.]
How awesome is that? He'll be making snowballs in no time.
((OOC: In case you'relame clueless unused to Pokemon like I am, Phil's Ice Shard is similar to the Mamoswine's here. Less powerful, obviously, but he's still learning.))

[He settles down a little bit, still smiling but with less bouncing.]
But what about you, Tooth? You practically disappeared off the face of the earth. If it weren't for Bunny, I'd have thought you two'd gone home without me.

Date: 2013-05-08 08:34 pm (UTC)[ She offers him a playful smile, before she shrugs her shoulders and reaches to-- rather carefully, actually, because cat-- pick up a Meowth from the floor. Haroom appears at her shoulder, but he's decidedly less Togepi and more Togetic. ]
Well, I've been keeping busy to make sure that Bunny doesn't have to worry too much about anything. You know him-- [ The tone is affectionately teasing. ] --but when I haven't been working, I've been trying to figure out the intricacies of breeding and training.

He worries about everything no matter what you do. Or anyone does. What does he even have to worry about here?
[He flops down to sit on the ground with Phil playing backrest. Having a blubbery partner was turning out to be pretty handy.]
Training with these guys, you mean? Yeah. It was weird at first, but they seem to enjoy it. They keep learning new stuff, anyway, and then Phil here comes out with that, and it was a pretty great surprise.

You know Bunny... [ She laughs a little. ] But he's doing a lot better than when we first got here, at least.
[ Holding the kitten-sized Meowth in the crook of her arm and, very tentatively, rubbing at one of her ears, she smiles as she watches him. ]
That sounds great. Haroom's given me a few scares so far, but someone warned me that Metronome can cause some pretty interesting things to happen. Nothing quite so surprising as what Phil's done, though, but he likes training, too.

[He moves the screen to let Phil see more clearly. The Seel barks a happy greeting to Haroom and the Meowth he hasn't met yet. Jack doesn't know why, but Phil always seems to like getting screen time.]
I've never heard of Metronome. What's it do?

No! [ A laugh. Tooth tries to defend Bun's honor. ] No, he never tried that, I swear.
[ Waving to Phil, she smiles brightly as Haroom trills a greeting in return for the bark. The Meowth, thus unnamed, regards them all with big but calm eyes rather than actually outright returning the greeting. ]
The pokémon sort of-- [ She holds up her index fingers, waving them a bit like a metronome. ] --before they randomly use an attack, even ones that they don't actually know. So there's been a couple explosions and a handful of uses of Flamethrower.

[He makes a little exploding motion with his hand, looking closer at Tooth's pokemon for a second.]

Dingle does seem to be a little less likely to cause explosions. [ For now, anyways. ]
